b Overview /b p In this role you will lead a geographically dispersed National Security Division team to deliver enhanced sentence management for high-risk terrorist and serious organised crime cases. You work closely with national and regional partners to manage risk, performance, and safeguarding, while presenting to senior leaders and coordinating across agencies. The position combines operational leadership with stakeholder engagement in a high-profile, security-focused environment. You will influence national standards and drive continuous improvement in national security outcomes. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li Learning and development opportunities /li li Flexible working options /li li Inclusive culture and diversity /li li Civil Service pension with employer contribution 28.97% /li li Annual leave and public holidays /li li Season Ticket Advance /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Provide direct line management to a dispersed specialist team delivering enhanced national standards for national security and critical public protection cases /li li Demonstrate awareness of operational and reputational risk and quality assure assessments /li li Analyze performance data to maximise team performance and report it accurately /li li Represent the unit in national and regional multi-agency meetings and support national portfolio projects /li li Develop staff, address underperformance, and manage diversity and employee relations /li li Build relationships with Probation regions and national departments (JExU, SOCU, PPG) and deliver training and CPD /li li Carry out safeguarding duties and promote MAPPA with internal and external stakeholders /li li Engage with partners and participate in regional forums for multi-agency delivery of service /li li Ensure secure handling of highly sensitive information and contribute to regional and national conferences /li li Adapt to changing political and security landscapes and accept reasonable additional tasks /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Probation Qualification Framework Graduate Diploma/Honours Degree in Community Justice integrated with Level 5 Diploma in Probation Practice /li li Or a qualification previously recognised by the Secretary of State for Justice under the Offender Management Act 2007 /li li Experience in leadership and managing probation or equivalent operational teams /li li Understanding of safeguarding, risk management and national security landscape /li li Ability to work with multi-agency partners and senior stakeholders /li /ul ul li Leadership /li li Decision making /li li Teamwork /li li Performance data analysis /li li Risk assessment and management /li li Safeguarding and MAPPA coordination /li /ul
