In this role you will lead a Local Delivery Unit to ensure high-quality probation practice and staff performance. You will align delivery with national standards, manage resources, and support partners to safeguard the public. You will analyse performance data to drive improvement and uphold equality and safeguarding requirements. This is a leadership position in a mission-driven criminal justice environment offering scope to shape service delivery.

Responsibilities
- Provide effective management and leadership to the team
- Ensure delivery of high-quality practice in line with policy and standards
- Deploy budgets and resources to maximise value and meet strategic aims
- Analyse performance data to drive improvement and inform decision-making
- Oversee staff development, attendance, health and safety, and diversity issues
- Ensure offender management meets risk and public protection standards
- Collaborate with partners in multi-agency settings and contribute to case reviews
- Promote continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery
- Safeguard children duties and uphold NPS/HMPPS policies and values
Key requirements
- Substantial experience as a Probation Officer or in a related criminal justice setting with good practice in offender risk assessment and management
- Understanding of Probation Service role in the Criminal Justice System and multi-disciplinary work
- Experience with risk management and multi-agency risk procedures
- Ability to evaluate practice and contribute to policy development
- Ability to work under pressure and meet demanding deadlines
- Teamwork and change management experience
- Strong IT skills and ability to interpret performance reports
