Overview
In this role, you will help coordinate fraud interventions within HMRC’s Fraud Prevention Centre, focusing on Identity Verification & Authentication controls. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to deliver fraud prevention initiatives that protect HMRC and its customers. The role is delivery‑driven, requiring strong organization, analysis, and collaboration in a fast-paced environment. You’ll monitor fraud trends, translate data into actions, and drive improvements in controls and delivery. This is an opportunity to shape how identity security and fraud prevention are implemented at scale within a major public service.

Responsibilities
- Support fraud risk identification and assessment
- Analyse fraud intelligence, alerts, and data to identify emerging risks and support prioritisation of interventions
- Assist with incident response and intervention delivery
- Deliver fraud prevention projects into live service; plan, coordinate, and implement IDVA and fraud controls
- Maintain awareness of fraud trends and threats; monitor developments in identity fraud
- Produce operational reporting and insights to support decision-making
- Collaborate across teams and stakeholders to support coordinated responses and project delivery
- Support governance and control processes in line with frameworks and procedures
- Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, controls, and delivery approaches
Key requirements
- Experience delivering projects or work packages in a digital, security, or fraud context
- Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences
- Understanding of fraud prevention principles and identity-related risks
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
