Overview
In this role you will lead IT audit engagements to provide assurance on governance, risk, and controls within HMRC’s large-scale digital transformation.
You work within the Internal Audit team to set and maintain high-quality standards, collaborating with audit partners and senior management to drive impact.
You will advise on risk and controls, and contribute to the audit plan while mentoring trainee auditors.

- Lead IT audit engagements ensuring quality standards
- Identify and assess complex IT risks and controls
- Engage with audit partners and act as a critical friend on major programmes
- Advise on risk, governance and control to support strategic objectives
- Communicate effectively with senior management to maximise impact
- Contribute to development of the internal audit plan and processes
- Mentor or line-manage trainee auditors as needed
- Key requirements
- Qualified IT Auditor with an IT audit qualification
- CISA or equivalent (e. g., CRISC, CISM, CGEIT) and post-qualification experience
- Experience delivering IT internal audit reviews in medium to large organisations
- Strong team player with independent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills across organisational levels
