SAP Lead Product Manager in Leeds

HMRC is building a modern, digital tax administration and runs the biggest digital operation in Government, providing digital services for 45 million individuals and 4.9 million business customers. Our digital programme is multi-award winning and the envy of other government organisations. We are undergoing a major transformation programme, which includes a major investment in digitisation. This means customers can do more for themselves online, in real time, on computers, tablets and smartphones therefore we are building a team of outstanding people who will create and run these new and improved technology services.

Your role will be to provide leadership and direction to product teams across a programme or portfolio of work. As Lead Product Manager, you will have the unique opportunity to work on some of the largest digital transformation programmes undertaken in Government and other sectors. Working in partnership with Chief Financial Officer (CFO) stakeholders and leadership team to build a business and technology strategy for the Finance business. You will focus on end-to-end business service delivery and operations for Finance; understanding holistic business requirements, handling all associated build and run activity, collaborating with other IT functions, and aligning with end-to-end IT service management.

Responsibilities:

• Create the vision, strategy, roadmap and value proposition for a programme or portfolio of digital services, creating achievable and measurable objectives for a portfolio digital services based on transformation programme goals using a user centred approach.
• Set product priorities, strategic direction and leadership for a programme or portfolio of products in a transformation programme, create and iterate programme-level roadmaps, setting KPI's and performance measures for success.
• Act as an escalation point for product managers and service teams.
• Lead engagement with Senior Directors, Senior Civil Servants and stakeholders to shape and influence delivery activity and governance.
• Ensure the correct placement and assignment of product managers, line manage, coach and mentor, responsible for increasing capability and ensuring product management standards are met.
• Lead creation of strategic roadmaps, business cases, funding forecasts and delivery plans to define pipeline of future work in CDIO.
• Work with Head of Product around recruitment, retention and upskilling of product managers in HMRC, to define standards and best practice for Product Managers.
• Provide analysis of business requirements, providing SAP SME input to solution designs promoting data and process standards.
• Key contribution in developing SAP Application and digital transformation roadmap, coordinate product development to identify re-use of components and patterns across services.
• Ensure designs are fit for purpose, deliver value for money and meet both business requirements and architecture blueprints.
• Ensure adherence to Government Service Standards.
• Be an active member of the wider professional Product Manager community.

Essential Criteria:

• SME level SAP product and hands on knowledge of either Finance, FICO, PS, FM and S/4 HANA at application layer and SAP SaaS products such as Ariba.
• Minimum 2 full SAP life cycle programme implementation experience in the finance, consumer goods, telecoms, public sector or engineering sector.
• Validated leadership experience detailing your ability to empower, support and develop staff.
• Excellent collaborative and communication skills including proven ability at a strategic level to influence wide ranging stakeholder community, including senior stakeholders.
