Overview
Regionally based role reporting to the Head of Programmes. You will oversee the strategic direction and delivery of probation interventions, including Accredited Programmes, Structured Interventions and Senior Attendance Centres. You will lead a mobile, dispersed team, allocate resources, and ensure high-quality delivery and compliance. Collaborate with partner agencies to deliver safe, well-coordinated services and meet performance targets. This role offers an opportunity to shape intervention delivery and multi-agency collaboration within a public sector context.

Responsibilities
- Provide effective line management to diverse staff and manage risk procedures
- Ensure interventions align with programme management manuals and audit standards
- Strategically oversee resource use, rotas, and contingency planning
- Maintain pool of trained facilitators and ensure required training completion
- Promote Accredited Programmes, Structured Interventions and SAC; ensure access to information for judiciary and practitioners
- Maintain quality standards, monitor compliance, and manage performance and complaints
- Prepare annual team plan, allocate resources, and support multi-agency public protection duties
- Initiate change and develop new services within available resources
- Manage financial resources per regulations and contribute to the business plan
- Accept reasonable changes and additional tasks as needed
Key requirements
- Understanding of key programme principles
- Extensive experience in offender risk assessment and management
- Knowledge of Probation Service role within the Criminal Justice System and multidisciplinary settings
- Evidence of evaluating practice
- Experience working under pressure and meeting deadlines
- Strong IT skills with ability to interpret performance reports
