In this role you will oversee the technical platform operations for HMRC's network infrastructure, working within the CDIO Network Services Team to support a large MSP-backed environment.

Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day platform operations, maintenance tasks, upgrades and patches with the MSP, focusing on scalability and security.
- Identify risks to platform performance and mitigate them; coordinate with MSP to resolve incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
- Support the Major Incident Management Process for Network Services and apply environmental knowledge to service delivery.
- Assist in strategic planning for platform evolution and contribute to projects involving enhancements, modernization, or new technologies.
- Monitor performance continuously and use data-driven insights to drive operational improvements.
- Review security protocols and vendor contributions, ensuring security and compliance standards are met by external suppliers.
- Key requirements
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships during challenging interactions
- Analytical skills to identify trends and propose continual improvement
- Excellent communication and presentation skills across seniority levels, including non-technical explanations
- Influencing skills and willingness to take ownership and responsibility
- Willingness to complete Contract Management training
- Hold a valid SC clearance or willingness to obtain one
- Good knowledge of IT services within a Network Services environment and ability to escalate issues appropriately
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications for communication and data management
- Experience in producing and reviewing reports with high attention to detail and quality
