Overview

In this role you define HMRC’s technology direction by delivering national-scale IT solution designs.

You’ll lead architectural work within the Chief Digital & Information Office to shape impactful solutions across tax and benefits systems.

You’ll explore AI/ML ideas and collaborate with cross-functional teams to turn business needs into pragmatic designs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of solution architects within IT Change Programmes
  • Own the production of technical IT Solution Designs aligned to the HMRC IT Strategy
  • Author costed design documentation with stakeholders and technical architects
  • Collaborate with Delivery Teams and partners to implement designs
  • Build strong relationships with business and CDIO partners
  • Key requirements
  • Experience in developing solutions at pace through Architectural Governance and managing architecture risks
  • Experience on multiple large-scale, complex IT change/transformation programmes
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and architectural concepts
  • Collaborative problem-solver with ability to identify root causes and deliver pragmatic IT solutions
  • Proven ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and document architectural views
  • Experience building own and others’ architecture capability
