Overview
In this role you will lead end-to-end IT delivery within HMRC's CDIO, guiding multi-disciplinary teams through complex projects. You will work to align delivery with broader business strategy and governance, leveraging Agile and Waterfall approaches. Responsibilities
- Lead strategic IT delivery for HMRC’s largest projects and ensure seamless infrastructure integration
- Develop and maintain delivery plans and reports, applying Agile and Waterfall methods
- Own risk management by proactively identifying and resolving dependencies and critical issues
- Oversee financial governance including forecasting, budgeting, and expenditure tracking
- Line-manage Delivery Managers, drive resource planning and talent development
- Influence senior stakeholders to align IT delivery with business strategy
- Champion the delivery community and foster cross-organisational collaboration
Key requirements
- Proven track record delivering large, complex IT projects in dynamic environments
- Experience leading and developing technical professionals while improving performance
- Expert use of project management tools across Agile and Waterfall frameworks
- Financial oversight skills with ability to assess costs and ensure value for money
