Rental Return Agents are responsible for ensuring that rental vehicles are returned in a timely and orderly manner, and that they are inspected and prepared for the next rental. This role involves interacting with customers, processing rental agreements and payments, and conducting vehicle inspections. Agents may also provide assistance with directions and travel information, and resolve customer complaints and issues.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers who are returning rental vehicles
- Inspect vehicles for any damages or issues, document them using the appropriate tools, and assess any necessary charges
- Outline and clarify final charges to customers and collect the rental agreement receipt signature
- Provide assistance with directions and travel information
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and ensure vehicles are prepared for the next rental
- Maintain accurate records and complete paperwork
- Resolve customer complaints and issues in a timely and professional manner
- Organise the rental car lot and keep it well-maintained
- Follow safety and security protocols at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent level of education
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Prior customer service experience (car rental, retail or hospitality sectors) – 1–2 years preferred
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Openness to working flexible schedules, including weekends
- Proficiency in communication and interpersonal skills
- Team‑oriented approach
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and perform well in a fast‑paced setting
