- Prepare and review earthing calculations, models, drawings, specifications and test requirements, ensuring compliance with BS EN 50522, BS EN IEC 61936-1, BS 7430 and applicable ENA/DNO requirements.
- Provide specialist technical authority for LV, MV and HV distribution networks across projects and programmes.
- Deliver power systems studies, including load flow, protection coordination, short‑circuit and power quality analysis.
- Design, assess and assure electrical distribution systems using engineering software and first‑principles calculations.
- Interpret complex electrical drawings, including protection and control schemes, and develop compliant technical solutions.
- Lead technical work packages, authorise project milestones and technical documentation, and support delivery within agreed budgets and specifications.
- Provide technical consultancy on HV networks, including 11k V, 33k V, 132k V and 400k V systems, and support network requirements across the product lifecycle.
- Supervise electrical staff and contractors, coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and resolve complex system integration challenges.
- Prepare and review engineering procedures, risk assessments, method statements, technical reports, local rules and supplier documentation.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring and training while ensuring work complies with legislation, codes of practice and UKAEA safety, quality and technical requirements.
- What You’ll Bring
- A degree in Electrical Engineering and significant professional experience in electrical engineering, with Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status or active progression towards it.
- Extensive post-qualification experience in power distribution, including substantial experience with LV and MV distribution networks in industrial, hazardous or harsh environments.
- Experience of designing, installing and testing LV and MV distribution networks, including issuing electrical isolations and racking circuit breakers in LV, MV and HV systems.
- Competence using electrical design and analysis software such as ETAP and Electrical OM for LV, MV and HV network studies.
- Demonstrable experience interpreting complex electrical drawings, including protection and control schemes for LV, MV and HV systems.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical safety practices and experience preparing safety documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, permits and isolations.
