UKAS is looking for an experienced and dynamic individual to join our Marketing and Communications team in the role of Events Manager to lead the planning, development and end-to-end delivery of UKAS’ flagship events and broader go-to-market events programme.

To be successful in the role, you will ideally have:

  • Proven experience as an Events Manager, Senior Event Executive, or in a similar role where you have managed the full delivery of large-scale events
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • An ability to find imaginative and practical solutions and make well-considered commercial decisions
  • Demonstrable experience of shaping event audiences and evaluating event effectiveness beyond attendance alone (e.g. quality of engagement, lead value, or stakeholder outcomes)

This role is responsible for the complete end-to-end management and delivery of the UKAS events portfolio, mainly focusing on UKAS’s representation at a wide variety of exhibitions and conferences across the country, alongside UKAS-hosted events. You will play an active role in shaping which events UKAS prioritises, ensuring time and budget are focused on activity that delivers genuine value.

You will work closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications to develop targeted strategies across all UKAS’s technical sectors to increase awareness and grow our presence at industry events. The role calls for someone with experience in budget awareness, event timelines, event planning and logistics. You will also act as the primary liaison with the wider marketing team, sales team, event organisers, suppliers, attendees, customers, and any other key stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and full lifecycle delivery of UKAS’s flagship events programme (25+ a year)
  • Ownership of event logistics, including schedules & content programmes, speaker briefings, vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, administration, project management and delegate journey management.
  • Work with the Marketing team to ensure integrated promotional campaigns for all events including creation of event marketing assets and engagement plans.
  • Lead post-event evaluation and analytics, using insights to improve future performance and conversion rates, providing evidence-based recommendations on which events to prioritise, scale back, or exit, based on impact, value and outcomes.
  • Collaborating across teams, in particular with marketing, sales, operational, and external affairs colleagues to ensure events integrate with wider campaigns and objectives, maximising impact and follow-through.

Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion:

UKAS is proud to be the United Kingdom’s sole Accreditation Body. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without a diverse mix of minds, backgrounds and experiences.
