As a rapidly growing business, we are excited to welcome a new Water Service & Mains Laying Teams Operative to contribute to our success. If you're looking for a long-term career opportunity with a Main Contractor, where you can develop your skills and be part of an industry-leading organisation, this role is for you.
Purpose: To be responsible for the installation of mains and services to required standards.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain own and others health and safety
- Carry out safety checks and inspections to vehicles, plant, equipment and sites as instructed
- Ensure that work is undertaken with due regard to the environment: prevent contamination to water supplies and water courses; maintain site cleanliness; prevent spills; minimise disturbance to members of the public; avoid damage to trees; dispose of waste only as authorised.
- Excavate holes using safe digging methods to avoid damage to underground utility apparatus
- Manhandle materials, plant and equipment
- Install pipes and fittings to the appropriate standards.
- Drive Company vehicles with due regard to the Road Traffic Act and other road users for authorised business purposes
- Operate mobile plant for authorised business purposes
- Maintain site, vehicle, plant and equipment tidiness and security
- Install and maintain road works to ‘Chapter 8’ standard
- Assist members of the public, clients’ representatives and other officials in relation to Company business
- Maintain safety, environmental and quality records
- Report any accidents, near misses, faults, damages or defects using appropriate documentation
- Undertake any other reasonable instructions given by management or supervision

- Cat & Genny 360 operators ticket
- Dumper operators ticket
