The SHEQ Coordinator will support the development, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of SHEQ management systems, digital platforms and business intelligence reporting across the Power Transmission & Distribution business.
Responsibilities
- Support SHEQ Management
Systems: maintain and continuously improve the Integrated Management System (IMS), document control ensuring procedures, standards and forms remain current and compliant; coordinate system updates for ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, National Grid requirements and client‑specific SHEQ standards; monitor review schedules and governance activities; assist with internal and external audits.
- Share Point Administration & Development: develop, manage and continuously improve Share Point sites; create document libraries, workflows, dashboards and communication pages; establish permissions, governance controls and version management; develop user‑friendly solutions to improve collaboration and information sharing; ensure records management and document retention requirements; support migration of legacy systems and documentation into Share Point environments.
- Power BI & Data
Analytics: develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting suites; produce visual performance reports covering safety performance, environmental performance, quality performance, operational assurance, incident trends, leading and lagging indicators; build automated reporting solutions using Power BI and Microsoft Power Platform; support predictive analytics and trend analysis initiatives; ensure consistency and integrity of business reporting metrics.

Management: support administration and optimisation of Eco Online, Microsoft 365, Share Point, Power BI, Power Automate, Microsoft Forms, Excel databases and other operational SHEQ systems; assist with system configuration and user administration; support development of automated workflows and reporting processes; investigate opportunities for digital innovation and AI‑enabled solutions.
- Data Quality & Governance: conduct regular data validation and quality assurance checks; support development of data governance standards; identify gaps, trends and anomalies within SHEQ datasets; ensure compliance with GDPR and company information management requirements; produce regular management reports and KPI summaries.
- Training & User
Support: provide first‑line support to system users; deliver training sessions on Microsoft 365, Share Point and reporting tools; produce user guides and digital learning materials; promote best practice use of SHEQ systems and reporting tools.
- Continual
Improvement: support the implementation of digital transformation initiatives; identify opportunities to automate manual processes; assist in developing innovative reporting and performance monitoring solutions; support business‑wide improvement projects aimed at enhancing SHEQ performance and operational efficiency.

Internal: Director of SHEQ, Head of HSSEQ, SHEQ Systems & Assurance Manager, SHEQ Advisors & Managers, Operational Directors, Project Managers, IT Department, HR and Learning & Development Teams.
External: Software providers, audit bodies, clients, framework representatives, external consultants.
Collaboration with Safety First Integrity Collaboration Excellence Sustainability Continuous Improvement while actively supporting the organisation's Zero Harm strategy, digital transformation programme and commitment to operational excellence across the Power Transmission & Distribution business.
Qualifications
- Educated to A‑Level standard or equivalent.
- Qualification in Information Management, Data Analytics, Business Systems or related discipline.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel qualification or demonstrable experience.
- Experience creating and maintaining Power BI dashboards.
- Advanced Microsoft 365 skills.
- Strong understanding of Excel, Power Query, Power Automate, Forms and Teams.
- Experience managing large datasets.
- Experience producing management information and KPI reports.
- Strong document control and governance experience.
- Desirable experience within utilities, construction, infrastructure or power sectors.
- Knowledge of SHEQ management systems.
- Experience supporting ISO‑certified management systems.
- Familiarity with Eco Online or similar SHEQ software platforms.
- Understanding of National Grid and DNO contractor environments.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability.
