Delivery of Strategic Procurement Strategies for United Infrastructure Group, aligned with the Group Procurement & Supply Chain Strategy – delivering improved commercial terms, added value and procurement & supply chain transformation aligned to business growth.
Specific Responsibilities
- Procurement - Drive commercial and added value benefits through negotiation of best value Group Frameworks / Agreements aligned with the Group Supply Chain Strategy, including:
- Preferred Supplier Agreements (PSA)
- Preferred Manufacturer Agreements (PMA)
- Third Party Agreements (TPA)
- Regional and National Sub-Contractor Frameworks (SCF)
- Blue Collar Agency Recruitment
- Permanent Recruitment
- Make recommendations and business cases to the Group Head of Procurement & Supply Chain, Director and other stakeholders for new group agreements and frameworks, including presentation of data, recommendation papers and presentations where appropriate.
- Ensure that products to be procured via Group Frameworks are compliant with all legislative/statutory requirements.
- Develop and execute contracts with key supply chain partners identified as best value via the strategic procurement process.
- Manage strategic relationships with key supply chain partners through a regular series of structured/formal review sessions and information exchange, supported by BU stakeholders where appropriate.
- Police the frameworks at Strategic level to ensure they are adhered to and not usurped, tackling slippage appropriately with supply chain and business units.
- Work with all business unit teams to ensure identified direct and third-party rebate opportunities are maximised and recovered.
- Liaison between business units and Preferred Suppliers & Manufacturers to ensure that Value Enhancement, Innovation and Saving opportunities are maximised.
- Procurement & supply chain representative to ensure alignment with PMO activities including development of the dashboard.
- Manage the applications for rebate payments and work with the finance teams to ensure monies are paid to invoiced terms.
General
- Identification of Supply & Demand pressures proactively, engaging the supply chain and ensuring risk mitigation strategies that have been developed and utilised – sharing information with the wider business.
- Form and issue Procurement & Supply Chain Advice Notes to the Group.
- Continuously seeks opportunities to add value and drive efficiency.
- Drive process automation and use of data within our own teams and the wider business.
- Strategic ‘project work’ as assigned aligned or identified.
- Works collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure a best value procurement culture is embedded and adopted within all parts of the business both strategically and operationally.
- Engages all parts of the business – ensuring mutual support and understanding of respective objectives with business units and central functions.
- Supports Procurement & Supply Chain integration of new acquisitions as directed.
- Develop and deliver improved communications internally and externally.
- Supports the business as required with strategic procurement expertise.
- Ensure that United Infrastructure SHEQ standards, operating processes, company policies and all legislative requirements are understood, implemented and adhered to at all times.
Criteria
- >10 years’ experience in Procurement & Supply Chain roles in the Construction sector, with additional sector experience also a preference.
- Construction and/or Business-related Qualifications – including NVQ, BSc, BA, MSc, MCIPS.
- Proficient IT skills particularly in Excel, PowerBi, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
- Ability to handle and analyse large volumes of data quickly and accurately – utilising information to identify risks and opportunities.
- Utilises data to support decisions and business improvement and able to represent data accurately to back up business cases & recommendations – both orally and visually.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.

- Collaborative and forward thinking.
- National travel required to Group Offices, Projects and Supply Chain.
