United Infrastructure is looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Water team. As part of a dynamic, fast-growing division, you will be at the heart of nationally significant infrastructure projects that will shape the UK’s future.
What You’ll Be Doing
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor you’ll be responsible for supporting the commercial team and contributing towards its success across the full lifecycle of each project — from contract negotiation to cost reporting. You will be supporting:
- Contract management in line with NEC 3/4 (Options A, B & E)
- Subcontractor negotiations, payments, forecasting and performance tracking
- Project risk management, reviewing day-to-day project risks
- Site visits for monthly AFP, sub-contract assessments
- Deliver accurate and timely budget, cost, and change reporting
- Produce monthly Cost Value Reconciliation and generate Earned Value Analysis reports, whilst maintaining robust commercial documentation
Qualifications
- 3 A-levels at minimum BCC grade
- 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at 9-4 (grade C or above), including Math, English, and ideally a Science
- Any previous Level 4 related qualification or equivalent discipline is advantageous
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel
- Basic understanding of standard methods of measurement
- Familiarity with the construction industry
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Ability to produce accurate work under tight deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Enthusiasm, commitment, and flexibility
- Willingness to take responsibility for own development and extend knowledge of software packages
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Previous experience in the construction industry is desirable but not required
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel as required
