The Role
As the Assistant Site Manager, you will assist overseeing the day-to-day delivery of planned kitchen and bathroom refurbishment works within occupied social housing properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Health & Safety
- Lead site safety and ensure compliance with all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Manage site inductions, toolbox talks, risk assessments, method statements, PPE requirements, and CSCS compliance.
- Promote a positive safety culture across all site teams and subcontractors.
- Report and escalate any accidents, incidents, near misses, or safety concerns promptly.
- Site Management
- Supervise, motivate, and manage operatives and subcontractors on site.
- Monitor productivity and ensure works are progressing in line with programme requirements.
- Ensure high standards of workmanship, quality, housekeeping, and waste management.
- Verify that all materials and installations meet project specifications and quality requirements.
- Ensure residents have full service provisions at the end of each working day.
- Project Delivery
- Work closely with the Contracts Manager and Project Manager to effectively plan and deliver projects.
- Review specifications, drawings, programmes, and health & safety documentation prior to commencement.
- Monitor project progress and provide accurate updates through company systems, including Pi LLAR and Pi LON 360.
- Maintain detailed and accurate site records to ensure full project traceability.
- Resident & Client Liaison
- Act as a key point of contact for residents throughout the duration of the works.
- Build positive relationships with residents, client representatives, and stakeholders.
- Identify and escalate concerns involving vulnerable residents, safeguarding issues, or fuel poverty.
- Maintain records of resident interactions and any actions taken.
- Ensure works are delivered with minimal disruption while maintaining excellent customer satisfaction.
- Compliance & Standards
- Ensure all work complies with company procedures, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and adherence to Pi LON's Code of Conduct.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote best practice across projects.
- Professional Conduct
- Attend meetings punctually and professionally.
- Ensure company tablets, software, and digital systems are used effectively and in line with business processes.
Essential Requirements
Previous experience supervising Kitchen & Bathroom Planned Works programmes
Experience working within the Social Housing sector (Essential)
Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and site compliance requirements
Experience managing direct labour and subcontractors
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication and resident liaison skills
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Valid CSCS Card (Supervisor level or equivalent)
