Job Description
- Carry out and document all tasks associated with the pre-commissioning / commissioning of the equipment.
- Be responsible for handing over a fully operational system for acceptance by the customer.
- Ensure health and safety procedures and standards are followed on site.
- Ensure all health and safety documentation is filed, maintained and updated on site.
- Ensure commissioning schedules, handover and witnessing documents are updated, maintained, completed and filed/issued to the project manager prior to project completion.
- Carry out factory acceptance testing when required, site acceptance testing and customer witnessing.
- Ensure sites are cleared of equipment and materials/products prior to handover/completion.
- Undertake any other duties as requested by senior staff.
- Carry out site surveys to support project teams where required.
- Compile RAMs where required.
- Observe & comply with health and safety regulations.
- Participate in safety reviews when needed.
- Maintain Continuous Professional Development.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications/Experience: HNC or equivalent in Engineering.
- At least 5 years working within the Power Industry.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, and ability to communicate effectively.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literate with experience of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Full UK Driving license.
- Good working knowledge of basic protection relays and functions.
- Capable of performing tests such as Contact resistance (Ductor), Insulation resistance, AC dielectric withstand tests, CT/VT primary and polarity checks, relay secondary injection, scheme checks and CT analysis.
- Capable of working with protection relays and making minor changes to settings and configs as and when required.
- Installation tests on distribution transformers.
- Occasionally help senior commissioning engineers on major projects.
Additional Information
Working away from home is expected around 80% of the year.
