As a rapidly growing business, we are excited to welcome a new Water Service & Mains Team Leader for the Yorkshire Water to contribute to our success. Responsibilities:
- Maintain own and others health and safety.
- Carry out safety checks and inspections to vehicles, plant, equipment and sites as instructed.
- Follow health and hygiene rules.
- Ensure that work is undertaken with due regard to the environment: prevent contamination to water supplies and water courses; maintain site cleanliness; prevent spills; minimise disturbance to members of the public; avoid damage to trees; dispose of waste only as authorised.
- Excavate holes using safe digging methods to avoid damage to underground utility apparatus.
- Manhandle materials, plant and equipment.
- Install pipes and fittings to the appropriate standards ensuring, in particular, that good jointing and hygiene practices are followed.
- Drive Company vehicles with due regard to the Road Traffic Act and other road users for authorised business purposes.
- Operate mobile plant for authorised business purposes.
- Maintain site, vehicle, plant and equipment tidiness and security.
- Install and maintain road works to ‘Chapter 8’ standard.
- Assist members of the public, clients’ representatives and other officials in relation to Company business.
- Maintain safety, environmental and quality records.
- Report any accidents, near misses, faults, damages or defects using appropriate documentation.
- Undertake any other reasonable instructions given by management or supervision.
Qualifications:
- National Water Hygiene registration (EUSR).
