Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Site Engineer / Site Manager to oversee the successful delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will combine strong engineering knowledge with effective site leadership, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, subcontractors and clients, you will play a key role in coordinating site activities while providing technical support throughout the construction process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project & Site Delivery
  • Manage day-to-day site operations across water and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects.
  • Supervise site teams, subcontractors and direct labour.
  • Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme.
  • Coordinate construction activities to meet project milestones.
  • Monitor progress and report on programme, risks and site performance.
  • Attend client and project meetings providing regular progress updates.
  • Engineering
  • Set out works in accordance with drawings and specifications.
  • Carry out site surveys, levels and dimensional checks using surveying equipment.
  • Produce and maintain accurate QA documentation, inspection records and as-built surveys.
  • Identify, investigate and resolve engineering issues during construction.
  • Support temporary works coordination where required.
  • Assist with planning, sequencing and construction methodology.
  • Health, Safety & Environment
  • Promote and enforce a positive health and safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and statutory regulations.
  • Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks and safety inspections.
  • Ensure environmental standards and sustainability requirements are met throughout project delivery.
  • Quality
  • Monitor workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Ensure quality assurance procedures are followed.
  • Maintain accurate site records, daily diaries and inspection reports.
  • Ensure all works are delivered to client quality expectations.
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Liaise with Project Managers, Designers, Client Representatives and Local Authorities.
  • Build strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Support commercial and planning teams where required.
  • Provide technical guidance to site teams.

Experience Required

  • You'll ideally have experience delivering water infrastructure projects including:
  • Clean Water
  • Wastewater
  • Water Treatment Works (WTW)
  • Sewage Treatment Works (STW)
  • Pumping Stations
  • Pipelines
  • MEICA interfaces

You'll also have experience with

  • Reinforced concrete structures
  • Drainage
  • Earthworks
  • Utilities
  • Temporary Works
  • NEC contracts (desirable)

Previous experience working for a Principal Contractor or major Civil Engineering Contractor is essential.
