This is an exciting time to join United Infrastructure on our Apprenticeship Programme as the business continues to grow, and we have a significant order book of secured future projects. Our Water Infrastructure business designs, builds and maintains critical water and wastewater assets on behalf of the UK’s water companies. We are looking for a cohort of apprentices to join the team.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Excavate holes using safe digging methods to avoid damage to underground utility apparatus
- Move materials, plant and equipment
- Install pipes and fittings to the appropriate standards ensuring, in particular, that good jointing and hygiene practices are followed
- Maintain site, vehicle, plant and equipment tidiness and security
- Carry out safety checks and inspections to vehicles, plant, equipment and sites and maintain safety, environmental and quality records
As an Apprentice with United Infrastructure, you’ll be given a real job from day one where you will gain hands-on industry experience, and the knowledge required to achieve a nationally recognised qualification. You’ll be inspired and stretched professionally, but fully supported by an expert network of colleagues, as you work to build the foundations for a career within United Infrastructure, and the construction industry.
As part of your Apprenticeship, you will be enrolled onto the Level 2 Water Network Operative Apprenticeship. The programme is 12-18 months long and will be delivered by one of our training partners. The training will include guided discussions and workshops as well as independent learning and collation of your portfolio of evidence. You will also receive one-to-one support from your tutor or coach and they will also meet regularly with you and your line manager to ensure you are progressing through your programme.
Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship programme, you will have achieved: Level 2 Water Network Operative Apprenticeship.
Qualifications:
In order to be successful in this role, we would like you to have achieved, or be predicted to achieve in Summer 2026:
- GCSEs at Grade 3-1/D-G or Level 1 Functional Skills in English and Mathematics
- Basic IT skills and able to use Microsoft Office packages e.g. Outlook, Word, etc.
- Good organisation, time management and communication skills
- Good level of physical fitness and able to work outdoors in all weather
- Full UK driving licence, or be actively working towards achieving this and able to pass within 6 months of starting
We require applicants to be aged 18+ by the start date to work on our live construction sites. You should also be available to start full-time work in September 2026 and have:
