United Infrastructure is a dynamic and rapidly expanding business focused on delivering critical infrastructure projects across the utility and social infrastructure sectors. Our team delivers innovative solutions to complex challenges. We are split into two business areas: Utility Infrastructure and Social Infrastructure.
The role involves managing our clients on a two-stage Design & Build project, installing a new 15 MW gas turbine-driven compressor on an existing site on the boundary of Gloucestershire and Worcestershire. You will rotate between our Warrington and Woking offices during the design phase, with full-time on-site presence during construction.
Duties and Responsibilities- Ensure work meets project requirements and timescales, managing contractual obligations.
- Manage the design partner to meet deliverable timescales.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation: Risk Register, Issue Register, Daily Log, Project schedules, Budgets, Governance approvals.
- Provide accurate reports and presentations on project progress and highlight potential risks.
- Develop excellent working relationships with the client, designers and stakeholders; liaise to build trust and attend client meetings and events.
- Support and facilitate project meetings with accurate recording.
- Prepare CVRs, target profitability, identify risks and opportunities, and advise on monthly forecast turnover.
- Promote high standards of health and safety and environmental management: attend meetings, develop plans, ensure compliance, conduct SHEQ and quality audits.
- Assess, select, and appoint subcontractors based on financial and quality performance; review work quality and safety; agree scopes of each subcontract package.
- Travel within the UK to various locations as required.
- 10+ years relevant experience in construction, energy, or engineering, with Design & Build projects essential.
- Technical knowledge of gas process systems is advantageous.
- Awareness of commercial management aspects: scope, change, forecasting.
- Working knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations, Designer and Principal Contractor’s role.
- Experience in regulated utility environment; gas projects desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Full, clean drivers licence.
