Following the acquisition of Wood’s UK Transmission & Distribution business, United Infrastructure has strengthened its capabilities in power engineering, construction and asset optimisation, supporting grid resilience and the transition to a low-carbon energy system. The company partners with public and private clients to deliver safe, sustainable and future-ready infrastructure across the UK. This site-based role is in Argyll, Scotland. Responsibilities
- Provide commercial support concerning financial and contractual matters arising through management of client projects, including post-award contract administration and the provision of commercial/contract deliverables.
- Implement project plans, undertake costs analysis, and develop cashflow forecasts; contribute to internal project reviews and develop project forecasts.
- Manage cost and change control, contract and subcontract administration, and project reporting; analyse variations and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Develop and implement subcontracting commercial strategy as required; monitor performance within budgets and identify entitlement opportunities.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement, clients and subcontractors to ensure seamless project delivery and address queries related to defined project costs.
- Prepare and present regular cost and budget reports, and provide insights to senior management for decision-making.
- Identify potential risks related to cost and contract management and develop mitigation strategies; ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
- Support ongoing workstreams in overhead lines to contribute to network capacity and the UK government pathway to 2030 and net zero objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civils, infrastructure or construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles, cost estimating, and contract administration.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and the ability to work with MS Teams and travel to sites across Scotland.
