Role Purpose
To lead, manage, and control all site activities to ensure successful project delivery within budget, to the required quality standards, and within the contract timescales. The role demands a strong focus on customer satisfaction, Social Housing experience, and the consistent application of the highest Health & Safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational & Site Management
    Take full accountability for daily onsite operations, including managing operatives and subcontractors in line with all company policies and procedures. Organise, coordinate, and optimise site resources to ensure efficient and effective delivery of all works. Ensure the highest levels of Health & Safety compliance at all times, supervising implementation of work safety plans, method statements, risk assessments, and related documentation. Maintain rigorous and high‑quality daily site records.
  • People & Subcontractor Management
    Conduct site inductions for all employees and subcontractors, followed by regular toolbox talks. Embed and promote the United Way of working within the team, ensuring full compliance with contract delivery processes. Ensure all operatives and subcontractors wear appropriate PPE at all times. Confirm that all operatives are suitably trained and competent in the use of relevant plant and equipment.
  • Quality, Programme & Delivery
    Identify, review, and implement client critical success factors, taking corrective action when required. Ensure all quality and programme standards are consistently achieved, carrying out regular progress reviews and addressing issues promptly. Coordinate and review contract drawings, specifications, and all work sections. Produce and manage short‑term programmes for trades, ensuring alignment with the master programme. Issue quality control notices to subcontractors promptly when required.
  • Documentation & Compliance
    Maintain all project‑related filing and administration in accordance with IMS and the Project Filing Guide. Ensure accurate record‑keeping of RFIs, verbal instructions, delays, disruptions, and other relevant documentation in collaboration with the commercial team. Understand and apply the relevant contract terms, conditions, and associated obligations.
  • Financial & Commercial Awareness
    Work closely with the commercial team to monitor the contract’s financial position. Agree scopes of work for each subcontract package. Review daywork sheets with the Site QS prior to signing.
  • Communication & Collaboration
    Maintain regular communication with the Line Manager, providing updates on progress and notifying them of any issues affecting programme or delivery. Chair or attend weekly subcontractor progress/planning meetings and record minutes. Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of site activities and timely resolution of issues.
  • Customer & Community Focus
    Demonstrate a strong focus on customer satisfaction, ensuring high‑quality delivery and positive client engagement. Support community initiatives and contribute to the company’s corporate social responsibility commitments.
  • General
    Identify and requisition site equipment, plant, and materials needed for the works. Undertake any other reasonable duties as assigned.
