We employ over 2200 people and work with a broad range of public and private sector clients. We are dedicated to creating a connected, sustainable future, and our work plays an important role in achieving the UK’s net zero ambitions.

We are looking for an apprentice to join our Water Infrastructure team which designs, builds and maintains critical water and wastewater assets on behalf of the UK’s water companies. As an Apprentice with United Infrastructure, you’ll be given a real job from day one where you will gain hands‑on industry experience and the knowledge required to achieve a nationally recognised qualification. You’ll also receive a generous holiday allowance, a Christmas shutdown and a tailored benefits portal to choose the right benefits for you.

Day to day you will support our Project Management team, which is responsible for overseeing and delivering complex projects within our organisation, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring all objectives are met
  • Updating and maintaining detailed project plans, schedules and budgets
  • Monitoring resources across various project stages
  • Monitoring potential risks that may impact project delivery
  • Collaborating with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders to ensure project alignment

As part of your apprenticeship programme you will be enrolled on the Level 4 Associate Project Manager Apprenticeship with one of our training partners. Upon successful completion you will be awarded a Level 4 Associate Project Manager Apprenticeship and will automatically qualify for Associate Membership with the Association of Project Management. You may then progress to the Level 6 Project Manager Degree Apprenticeship programme.

Qualifications: In order to be successful, we would like you to have (or be predicted to achieve by Summer 2026):

  • GCSEs at Grade 9–4/A*–C including English and Mathematics
  • A‑level 3 qualification, e.g. BTEC, A‑Levels, T‑Level, ideally in a construction or closely related discipline
  • Good IT skills and ability to use Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Good organisation, time‑management and communication skills
  • Full driving licence, or actively working towards achieving this

You must also be available to start full‑time work by September 2026 and be:

  • Committed to live and breathe our company values during your work and studies
  • Motivated and dedicated to successfully complete your apprenticeship programme

Please note, as this is an apprenticeship programme, to be eligible you must not already have an equivalent level or higher qualification in the occupational area, or significant work experience.

We welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates, regardless of race, gender, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age. We are proud to be a disability‑confident employer.

If you are ready to be part of our expanding team and contribute to our success, please click the ‘I’m interested’ button and submit an application. We recommend you apply as early as possible as we may close this vacancy if we receive sufficient applications.
