Purpose of job
As a member of our multi-skilled and mobile site team, you willbe responsible forthe on-site installation, testing and sign-off of our projects.You will be enthusiastic and keen to solve problems and assist in the delivery of our projects in a manner that exceeds our customers’ expectations and ensures that our work adheres to the Company’s management systems including all occupational health and safety (OH&S), environmental and quality policies and requirements.
The day-to-day activities of this role will involvetravelling to a client’s site and carrying out the electrical installationand testing work required for that project including associated paperwork. You will be part of a mechanical and electrical team andassistmechanical trades whenrequired.
Specific responsibilities

Carry out electrical installation and refurbishment works on existing water company sitesin accordance withthe project requirements and programme.

Work on client sites across the region – you maybe requiredto work away from home and stay overnight during the week subject to the project location andin accordance withthe project needs. You maybe requiredto undertake paid overtime asrequired.

Work outside and on sites that convey sewage as well as drinking water andcomply withthe necessary hygiene standards.

Work on multiple projects simultaneously ifrequired.

Assistthe project team to specify job requirements and the parts / equipment / materials needed for the job as well as compile survey reports for quotation purposes.

Work in the company workshops asrequiredto build and repair electrical systems and equipment.

Read,understandand follow risk assessments and method statements.

Inspect, survey,identifyfaults, carry out works and test electrical systems.

Complete required paperwork for each project and compile reports as necessarytodemonstrateinstallation and testing work has been carried out successfully,accuratelyandtimely.

Utilise design drawings, wiring diagrams and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete assigned projects.

Be able to trouble shoot when issues arise and follow the correct procedure toidentifysolutions and ensure they are implemented effectively.

Compliance with BS7671 requirements as well as company and client specific standards.

To be accountable to yourself and your co-workers and take responsibility for the health and safety of yourself and all others under your control.

To work as part of a team and to cooperate with other staff / trades.

Ensure the quality of your work on site is completed right first time and to Company standards.

Capable of working at heights and in confined spaces in industrial environments
Criteria

2+ years’ related experience post qualification in electrical installation and testing, preferably in the UK water sector

Fully qualified electrician (NVQ level 3 or equivalent) (essential)

City & Guilds 2391 Test and Inspection (advantageous)

Control and automation experience (advantageous)

Jib Gold card

Valid UK driving licence (essential)
