About The Role
We are seeking a skilled IT Technical 2nd Line Engineer with experience in automation/scripting and M365 technologies including Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Autopilot, and Microsoft Azure administration. This role is pivotal in supporting our cloud-first strategy and ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our workplace services and Microsoft Cloud services. You will act as an escalation point for complex technical issues and play a key role in the day-to-day management and optimisation of our cloud services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 2nd line support for escalated incidents and service requests, particularly those related to Azure, Intune, and Microsoft 365.
- Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Administer and maintain Azure resources including VMs, Azure AD, networking, storage, and security configurations.
- Administer Microsoft Intune for device compliance, application deployment, and endpoint security.
- Development and administration of PowerAutomate routines to support automation within the infrastructure.
- Contribute to IT projects, including cloud transformation, automation, and infrastructure upgrades, site installations and partner/acquisition integrations.
- Maintenance of data integrity/backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
- Ensure compliance with security policies, data protection regulations, and industry standards.
Person Specification
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a 2nd line support role.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Cloud technologies, including: Autopilot, Intune, Entra ID, RBAC, and Conditional Access.
- Azure Virtual Machines, Networking (VNETs, NSGs), and Storage.
- Solid experience with Microsoft 365 administration and optimisation, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Endpoint management, including application packing in Intune, and patch management.
- Experience in PowerAutomate and PowerShell scripting for automation and administration.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- The desire to progress relevant, role-related certifications.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Microsoft 365 certifications (e.g., MD-102, MS-102, AZ-104, AZ-305, or AZ-500).
- Familiarity with hybrid environments and on-prem to cloud migrations.
- Experience with administration of Google Workspace.
- Exposure to GCP and AWS administration.
- Knowledge of ITIL practices and service management tools.
- Experience with identity and access management, including MFA and SSO.
- Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
