The United Infrastructure Transmission and Distribution team provides HV OHL design supporting construction, procurement, and consultancy on a variety of projects within the sector. Due to significant growth across our Transmission and Distribution business, United Infrastructure has a unique opportunity for CAD designers keen to broaden their expertise and work on critical UK transmission projects.
This role will suit someone looking for the opportunity to use their CAD skills to build a career in Electricity Transmission. The role will provide exposure to civil, structural and electrical 2-D and 3D CAD deliverables utilised to support our construction on a variety of HV overhead line and underground cable projects.
Purpose of the Position:
- Deliver drawings, design deliverables and documents as directed by the engineers and designers in accordance with the engineering procedures and guidance notes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Produce CAD models in AutoCAD Civil 3-D to support engineering studies and construction activities.
- Produce drawings, sketches, and reports to convey the outputs from Engineering to stakeholders internally and externally.
- Ensure that the quality of all your deliverables before passing to others for review.
- Ensure, as far as practicable, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and programme.
- Keep up to date with all technical quality management procedures, developments and specifications related to the discipline work scope.
Qualifications / Knowledge and Experience:
- ISCED level 3 – Minimum A level or post GCSE technical training in CAD applicable subject.
- Work experience – Will consider new entry, but preference is at least a year post study working.
- Essential: Computer Literacy in basic software packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
- Some level of expertise in producing CAD outputs with packages including but not restricted to AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
- GCSE pass (C or higher) in Mathematics and English.
- Fluent spoken and written English language.
Desirable:
- Post school level education achievements in relevant area for delivering engineering CAD outputs.
- Ability to work maturely in a diverse team.
Applicants must have proof of Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK.
