United Infrastructure Power Transmission and Distribution is recruiting for a Materials & Logistics Specialist to support project operational demand across the UK at multiple sites. You will oversee the receipt, storage, movement, and control of all materials to support the business.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for the delivery of all materials and logistics activities.
- Allocate, control, issue and marshal materials between work locations and suppliers in accordance with project requirements, schedules and vessel sailings.
- Produce shipping documents for all material movements.
- Update the procurement system with goods receipts, manifests and shipping documentation.
- Manage warehouse materials handling – OS&D checks, bagging, tagging, preparation for shipping and marshalling/loading of shipments.
- Identify material shortages and surplus.
- Control inventory in accordance with FIFO/KANBAN regimes and maintain accuracy through cycle counts and stock checks.
- Requisition and control small plant, consumables and tooling.
- Produce materials status reports for project and client.
- Co‑ordinate material supply and performance of fabrication items.
- Ensure maintenance and preservation of stored equipment.
- Attend project progress meetings and purchase order pre‑production meetings.
- Liaise with project personnel, client representatives and suppliers to resolve supply issues.
- Maintain supply chain activities in line with project execution plans, schedules, contracting strategy and approved budgets.
- Update the project/procurement status report with current/estimated lead times, notifying delays.
- Execute activities in compliance with the UI Supply Chain Code of Conduct, statutory requirements and audit‑ready documentation.
- Deliver requests from the project construction manager to the site.
- Promote safe working practices and demonstrate safety commitment.
- Understand and live UI’s vision, values and behaviours and the UI Financial Management Framework.
- Perform any other tasks reasonably requested by line management.

Qualifications
- Qualified to ISCED Level 3 (Upper Secondary).
- Dangerous Goods by Sea & Air – not essential, role specific.
- Manual handling / Forklift licence experience – not essential, role specific.
- Telehandler Licence – desirable, role specific.
- HGV licence – essential, role specific.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years in materials/logistics with demonstrable results.
- Detailed industry experience allowing understanding of key material control and logistics concepts.
- Experience with ERPs.
- Competency in Microsoft Office.
