Job Description

  • Responsible for Quality related matters on Construction Projects
  • Reports to the QA Manager on progress and issues with Project quality
  • Provide QA Advice to the Project Team
  • Ensures that Project requirements for quality standards are identified, communicated to all relevant parties, and monitored
  • Attends project progress meetings to discuss problems affecting quality and ensures that action programmes are agreed and implemented
  • Prepare, in conjunction with the Project Manager, the project specific QMP and ITP, ensuring that client acceptance is obtained
  • Audit construction activities for compliance with procedure / quality plan
  • Review and assist the compilation of the quality section for handover documentation, monitoring progress through to final client acceptance
  • Monitoring quality related issues, determining root causes and corrective actions determining where improvements to practice are required
  • Lead and/or support on internal projects as required, appraising the relevant risks, processes and controls to identify opportunities for improvements to the effectiveness and efficiency of Quality
  • Undertake internal and external quality audits at all stages of the delivery process including at supply chain sites such as FAT’s
  • Lead Quality incident investigation, reporting, development of corrective actions and track their completion
  • Comply with health and safety legislation, policies and procedures in the performance of the duties of the post
  • Composing technical documents and procedures for review by the QA manager and Head of Engineering

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years’ work experience in a quality-based role (Ideally in a civil engineering environment) other regulated sectors are also considered applicable
  • Experience with codes of practice for quality such as ISO 9001, 14001, 45001
  • Experience with the NCR process
  • Root cause analysis (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone) experience is desirable but not essential
  • Ability to discuss complex quality issues with key stakeholders, with the ability to persuade and influence outcomes
  • Good timekeeper
  • Responsible, conscientious, punctual, highly organised, self-motivated and able to work under pressure, both on own initiative and as part of a busy team
  • A full UK Driving Licence is essential
