My very busy well-established recycling clients are now looking to add to their ever-increasing workload Grab Operatives on a temp-perm contract to start asap. We are looking for a dedicated and self-motivated Grab Operative for our materials processing plant in Runcorn. There will be an opportunity for you to develop into a multi-skilled operative, with ongoing training provided. You help recycle old PVC windows and doors, which cuts waste, reuses materials, and reduces landfill use. Plus, you get to be part of a company that’s focused on innovation and sustainability.
We are looking for candidates with the following:
- Technical Ability: Familiarity with operating and maintaining machinery, as well as understanding of production processes. Experience working in an operational environment that involves hands-on work and exposure to diverse conditions is preferred. A FLT and Grab Licence is essential. A JCB licence is desirable.
- Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks within set timeframes while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Problem-Solver: Ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and efficiently.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills, able to interact effectively and professionally with colleagues with minimal supervision.
They will be working shifts, day and nights but for the first 2-4 weeks whilst training will be on days only. When doing shifts the shift allowance will be 20%, whilst on days only it will be 10%. With Grab Hours will be 6am-6pm and 6pm-6am on the 3 week shift rota, paid for 167 hours per month.
Your role:
- Fixed Plant Operation: Operate machinery to oversee the production process, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining high-quality output. Continuously monitor the production process to achieve daily targets. Perform daily adjustments and lubrication of machines.
- Health, Safety & Environmental: Comply with all legislation, policies, and procedures, prioritising and promoting safety in all aspects of work.
- Maintenance: Replace consumable items associated with the production process, such as filters and drums. Ensure routine operational checks and maintenance tasks are completed in line with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Site Operations: Operate the site and production processes safely and efficiently. Maintain high standards of plant cleanliness.
- Team Support: Assist with other duties as needed, collaborating with colleagues to achieve production targets and maintain a high standard of work.
- Continuous Improvement: Work within the team to continuously deliver performance improvements and ensure production efficiency and targets are met.
