My clients are a very well-established manufacturing company based in Tameside. They supply products to over 100 countries worldwide with Head Offices in the UK, Ireland, Canada and Australia. We are now looking for them a Product Design Engineer based at the site in Tameside 40 hours per week – 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday. 1 hour – Unpaid Lunch Break. Salary DOE

Main Purpose of the Role: The role will be varied covering continuous development of existing products / new designs from prototype to production items. Areas of responsibility to include development of current products and creating new designs for the industry. The candidate will have the ability to work on conceptual designs through prototype, testing, to pre-production samples and final component approval.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Using Autodesk Inventor Product Design suite to develop new and updated designs of window shading products
  • Prototype and test new concepts
  • Liaise with internal departments to create manufacturing and installation instructions
  • Create images/renders for catalogue and promotional literature.

Essential Criteria:

  • Product Design Degree / or relevant work experience
  • Injection moulded part design knowledge
  • Education may be substituted with additional relevant experience. Knowledge of drafting standards, GDT.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Use of Autodesk Inventor software
  • Sheet metal part design
  • Extrusion profile design knowledge
