We are looking urgently for a Production/Assembly Operative Team Leader to join the very busy team. Fixed contract min 3 months. Hourly wage is £15.19 plus a £1000 per month shift allowance. Hours are 30 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 5pm to 11pm and then Fridays 1pm to 7pm. No deviation from this shift pattern.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervising employees working on the assembly line, providing clear instructions and constructive feedback where necessary to ensure production timescales are met and quality standards are adhered to.
  • Provide detailed instructions and guidance to ensure the shift runs efficiently, monitoring for any potential disruptions and troubleshooting, to ensure they are dealt with promptly.
  • Coaching new or less experienced colleagues to ensure they can perform their role and adhere to agreed processes and procedures.
  • Provide insight and suggestions to the Site Manager on how to improve the process to ensure peak productivity and efficiency.
  • The successful candidate will also have key holding responsibility.

Your Profile:

  • Previous experience in light production and hands on assembly work.
  • Previous experience fabrication would also be desirable.
  • Able to lead with empathy and in an approachable manner.
  • The ability to understand and deliver instructions, and further training where necessary.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to work on one’s own initiative and take ownership for production whilst on shift with a basic understanding of production flow with a quality focused mindset.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing safety protocols and regulations.
  • CNC experience is desirable.
  • A forklift licence would be an advantage, but not essential.
  • A solid understanding of production machinery and proper assembly procedures would be an advantage, but not essential.
  • An ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics would be an advantage, but not essential.
