My clients are a very well-established manufacturing company based in Tameside. They supply products to over 100 countries worldwide with Head Offices in the UK, Ireland, Canada and Australia. We are now looking for an Extrusion Setter/Operator, based at the site in Tameside.

Salary up to £36.5K DOE

Nights: 36 hours per week – 9pm-6am Mon to Thu, 30 mins – paid break.

The primary roles are setting, running, and monitoring our PVC Extrusion Line for bespoke products. The role will be varied, requiring a ‘hands on’ approach implementing production programmes with agreed quality and speed parameters. Responsibilities include:

  • Programming the machines and feeding the tool through/putting the tool on
  • Controlling the machines
  • Understanding dimensional checks and working to close tolerances
  • Recording quality results and visual inspection
  • Altering machine parameters, if necessary
  • Occasional die cleaning and tool changes

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in a similar role with 3 to 5 years processing experience, and knowledge of fault rectification within PVC Extrusion. Applicants must be hard working in a fast-moving manufacturing environment and work well under pressure.
