As one of the fastest-growing and highest-rated commercial energy suppliers in the UK, UGP is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development & Partnerships Manager to support our continued strategic growth. This is a senior role based at our offices in Guiseley, Leeds, focused on delivering high-value, sustainable revenue and long-term partnerships.
This position is responsible for driving commercial performance through two core channels:
- Direct enterprise and mid-market B2B sales
- Strategic partner, referral, and channel relationships
The role is ideally suited to someone who thrives in complex, consultative sales environments and is equally comfortable winning business directly as well as developing and optimising partner-led growth. This is not a high-volume outbound sales role; success is measured by the quality and profitability of revenue rather than activity levels.
At UGP we aim to attract people from diverse backgrounds to build on our inclusive culture. We welcome applications from everyone regardless of age, race, gender, religion or beliefs, disability, gender identity or sexual orientation.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Enterprise Business Development: Own and deliver new business revenue across enterprise and strategic B2B accounts. Lead end-to-end sales cycles from discovery through to contract, onboarding, and renewal. Engage CFOs, procurement teams, operations leaders, and senior stakeholders. Structure commercial proposals aligned to risk, budget, contract length, and long-term value. Drive sustainable gross margin performance, not just volume. Maintain disciplined forecasting, CRM management, and pipeline visibility.
- Partnerships & Channel Growth: Own and develop a portfolio of strategic referral and channel partnerships. Convert partner introductions into qualified, high-value opportunities. Commercially manage partner relationships to maximise revenue and margin contribution. Identify new partnership opportunities aligned to UGP’s strategic markets. Support onboarding of new partners with clear commercial frameworks. Track and report on partner-generated pipelines and conversion.
- Commercial Leadership & Influence: Provide structured input into pricing, deal structuring, and commercial risk assessment. Work closely with Sales Leadership and Operations to ensure strong delivery and retention. Collaborate with SDRs where appropriate to elevate quality of opportunities. Influence long-term growth strategy through market and partner insight.
The Individual:
Essential:
- Proven success as a senior BDM or commercial sales professional.
- Track record of closing high-value, long-cycle B2B deals.
- Experience managing or monetising referral or channel partnerships.
- Strong commercial acumen across pricing, margin, and contract structure.
- Comfortable leading complex negotiations with senior stakeholders.
- Structured and disciplined approach to forecasting and pipeline management.
Desirable:
- Experience in energy, utilities, commodities, or regulated services.
- Exposure to enterprise, multi-site, or portfolio-based customers.
- Experience building partner frameworks or formalising referral models.
Join the Team:
