About Us: United Drains is a leading name in the drainage industry, known for providing high-quality service across both clean and foul water systems. As part of our continued growth, we are looking for experienced Groundworkers to join our team and contribute to a wide range of commercial drainage projects.
Role Overview: This hands-on role focuses on the installation, repair, and maintenance of drainage systems, including soakaways, sewers, and surface infrastructure. You will also carry out reinstatement works such as relaying slabs, restoring concrete paths, and laying turf.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and repair of drainage systems
- Installation of new soakaways
- Removal and replacement of manhole covers and frames
- Repair and replacement of gullies
- Carry out finishing works including patios, concrete repairs, turfing, and reinstatement
- Support drainage teams with reactive or planned maintenance tasks when groundwork is not required
Essential Requirements:
- Valid UK driving licence
- CSCS card (Construction Skills Certificate Scheme)
- City & Guilds qualification in Confined Spaces
- Experience using CAT and Genny
- Strong knowledge of drainage systems and site safety
- Team player with good communication and problem-solving skills
- Physically fit and capable of outdoor manual work
- Small digger ticket or trailer towing licence advantageous (training can be provided)
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday
Overtime opportunities available
