Major Responsibilities:

  • Direct Clinical Services: Provides individual, family, or group counseling services to parents and children in the community or school, as needed. The School Based Clinician will identify the mental health and behavioral needs of students; develop and implement treatment plans; conduct clinical interviews, assessments, observations, and complete clinical reports; review referrals from the school of students who need mental health services. Assist in providing and/or coordinating crisis services for students who need them.
  • Case Management / Service Coordination: Makes home visits to support families, as needed. Facilitates communication between agencies on behalf of the student. Attends team meetings to plan and monitor services. Provides case management, collateral contact and social support, as needed.
  • Consultation / Education Services: Provides consultation services to teachers and school personnel, as needed. Consultation can be educational or evaluative.
  • Clinical Record‑Keeping: Initiates and maintains, in a timely and thorough manner, the wide variety of record keeping and administrative documentation required.
