The successful applicant will coordinate the effective delivery of the Sport study programmes across various levels, providing academic leadership for students, creating a curriculum that is engaging, relevant and coherent and in line with local and national priorities. As a Lecturer in Sport, you will develop and maintain up-to-date industry knowledge, bring in industry professionals where possible, support and motivate learners to meet their individual aspirations and goals, and coordinate the tracking of learners' achievements. You will lead study programmes to attain outstanding achievement, student retention and progression.
Responsibilities
- Deliver highâquality teaching across BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure, NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Gym Instructing and Personal Training, and other NCFE Level 3 pathway courses.
- Develop and maintain industryârelevant curriculum and engage industry professionals.
- Support and motivate learners to achieve personal and academic goals.
- Track and report on learners' achievements and progression.
- Lead study programmes to achieve outstanding outcomes and student retention.
- Contribute to a collaborative, positive teaching team.
Qualifications
- Industry experience in sport or related field preferred.
- Willingness to work towards a recognised Level 4 teaching qualification (PGCE/CertEd) or a Level 5 qualification upon appointment.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work cooperatively.
- Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of young people and vulnerable adults.
