We are seeking ambitious, outstanding candidates to join our teaching staff at United Colleges Group. We are a forward-thinking education provider and our mission is to deliver outstanding, world class education and skills.

At UCG we offer a range of sports courses that will allow our students to develop a strong set of skills, preparing them to begin a successful career in the sports industry. These courses range from the BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure to NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Gym Instructing and Personal Training, to our NCFE Level 3 pathway courses. At our Paddington Campus, we have a newly refurbished fitness suite on site with the latest resistance training equipment and the team have excellent industry links which allow us to provide external trips to places such as Wembley Stadium, Manchester Velodrome and Sky Sports Studios.

The successful applicant will coordinate the effective delivery of the Sport study programmes across various levels providing academic leadership for students, creating a curriculum that is engaging, relevant and coherent and in line with local and national priorities. As a Lecturer in Sport, you will develop and maintain up to date industry knowledge, bringing in industry professionals, where possible, that are relevant to the Sport curriculum and the employability and skills needs of students. You will support and motivate learners to meet their individual aspiration and goals and will coordinate the tracking of learners’ achievements. In your role you will lead study programmes to attain outstanding achievement and student retention and progression. You will have sound organisational skills, your ability to work cooperatively and contribute positively and creatively to a team is also essential.

We also welcome candidates with industry experience, and you will have the opportunity to work towards a teaching qualification. The role will require you to work towards a recognised Level 4 teaching qualification (PGCE/CertEd) or be willing to work towards a Level 5 teaching qualification upon appointment.
