The Industry Skills Tutor will manage a caseload of apprentices, monitoring attendance, progression, achievement and completion. They will coordinate the achievement of all aspects of apprenticeship standards or frameworks, provide pastoral support, resolve issues affecting successful completion, and develop individual action plans with smart targets tailored to apprentices' needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and support apprentices’ attendance, progression, achievement and completion.
- Organise pastoral support and work with all parties to resolve issues affecting successful completion.
- Coordinate achievement of apprenticeship standards and frameworks, including quality assurance where appropriate.
- Develop individual action plans with smart targets for each apprentice.
- Maintain accurate records in line with College requirements.
- Travel to all College campuses and external venues as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Hold a relevant vocational qualification at or above Level 3 and an Assessor award and IQA award.
- Have up-to-date industrial/subject knowledge and a solid understanding of the Carpentry industry and employment opportunities.
- Have knowledge of Ofsted and apprenticeship and AEB funding.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills; capable of managing priorities and working as part of a team.
- Commitment to and enthusiasm for delivering excellent customer service, demonstrating problem-solving attributes for apprentices, employers and key stakeholders.
