United Colleges Group are currently seeking a Curriculum Manager for the Refrigeration & AC department and the Construction & Trades Department. We are seeking ambitious, outstanding candidates to join our teaching staff at United Colleges Group. UCG provides education to over 11,000 learners a year, including 16-18-year-olds, adults, apprentices, and students with high needs. With an annual turnover of over £50m, we are one of the top 20 largest college groups in the UK. We offer education and training in almost all vocational areas at a variety of levels for a wide range of learners of all ages and starting points. Our students attract students from across London and beyond. In the academic year 2022‑23, we enrolled more than 3,500 full‑time 16‑18 students, 8,000 adult learners and over 450 apprentices across our Group. UCG currently enrols 250+ HE students per year, across 4 campuses onto 12 courses from STEM subjects (Science, Construction, Engineering, and Computing) to Business, Music and Professional Qualifications. We have around 1,000 dedicated, skilled and enthusiastic staff who always put the needs of our students first and we are now looking for two Curriculum Manager for Engineering, Construction and the Built Environment (ECBE) to join our cohort of dedicated staff. Our mission is to provide all our learners with the very best knowledge and to break down any barriers to learning. We pride ourselves on enabling our learners to meet their individual needs and aspirations and we deliver a learning experience that is unique, enjoyable and rewarding.

About the Roles

The Curriculum Manager for ECBE will contribute to the operational management, development and performance of all aspects of the College delivery of teaching, learning and assessment across all aspects of provision. Both of these roles, will be expected to deliver the implementation of the College Group\’s quality improvement strategies for elements of the current OFSTED framework. The Curriculum Manager will also work to maintain a culture of continuous improvement through self‑assessment and other quality initiatives through the College Group. They will develop Teaching, Learning and Assessment improvement strategies in pursuit of an outstanding student experience and will also lead and be responsible for the performance management of direct reports in order to achieve consistently high outcomes. This role will be based at our Willesden Campus. The Curriculum managers will lead on employer engagement and internal quality assurance activities within their areas.

  • Hold a teaching qualification or equivalent
  • Have a track record of operational leadership and management in a Further Education setting
  • Have experience of supporting the development of staff, in both the vocational area and learning and teaching
  • Have experience of recruitment, induction and guidance of students
  • Have experience of contributing to effective curriculum planning, design and development
  • Have experience leading and managing staff and effective budget management
  • Have experience in leading and/or coordinating enhancements in quality in the delivery of curriculum
  • Have excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Have a commitment to meeting the needs of the learners, employers and communities that the College serves
  • Have a strong commitment to the College\’s values and mission and equality and diversity for both staff and students
  • A specialism in Plumbing, Gas, or Refrigeration is desirable
