Position Overview

Design Engineer – Aviation Structures (Rotary Aircraft)

Location: Yeovil, UK.

Contract Duration: 6 months (potential for extension).

Start Date: ASAP.

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer with a strong background in aviation structures and rotary aircraft design to join our team on a 6‑month contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high‑profile aerospace projects in a fast‑paced and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop structural components and assemblies for rotary‑wing aircraft.
  • Produce detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Conduct design reviews, stress considerations, and modification assessments.
  • Liaise with cross‑functional engineering and production teams to ensure design integrity and compliance.
  • Support documentation and certification requirements for aerospace standards.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in rotary aircraft or aerospace structural design.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace materials, tolerancing, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver to tight project timelines.
  • Must be based in or able to commute to the Yeovil area.
