Harrow Primary School is recruiting for a Year 4 teacher to start in September for the full academic year. This is a maternity cover and there may be a permanent option after that, providing a good opportunity to establish yourself in the school.

The Role

The Head teacher seeks a dynamic Year 4 teacher to work with this lovely class. Behaviour in the class is good and children are very motivated. They like to be challenged academically and are a creative group. The school provides half a day per week for PPA, which is taken alongside the parallel class teacher, where you will plan together, share ideas and resources.

The School

This oversubscribed school is 2 form entry and has a very dynamic Headteacher and SLT who have been together at the school for a few years. Standards for learning are very high and there is a lot of support from home, from parents/carers who take an active role in their children’s learning. The school has excellent resources, including a sports field. They use a restorative behaviour approach to help the children develop their behaviour and understanding of the consequences of their behaviour, resulting in a calm, cooperative atmosphere in the school.

The Ideal Candidate

This opportunity is interested in hearing from ECTs as well as experienced teachers and they can offer ECT induction. You should have a creative and adaptable approach to your teaching and the Head welcomes applicants from teachers who can offer a subject specialism.
