Shift Pattern: Wednesday to Saturday (Alternate Wednesday) 17:30 - 05:30

Rate of Pay: £18.04 per hour, overtime paid at x1.25 hrs after 48 hours.

Here at Manton Wood, we have a team of around 1,700 colleagues. We produce sandwiches and wraps for some of the biggest retailers in the UK including Co‑op, Asda, Morrisons, Boots, Aldi and Lidl. Our Manton Wood site has a gym, restaurant with hot food and a staff shop available to all our colleagues.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Demonstrate low risk coordination within the warehouse department, leading nominated colleagues and ensuring consistent application of processes in a given area.
  • Guarantee ingredients are packed, transferred, prepped or printed to agreed time scale and standards to enable uninterrupted production lines.
  • Support the Picking team when senior coordinators are absent, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of products and safe loading of orders.
  • Deliver area productivity and efficiency targets, resolving problems and issues as they arise.
  • Continuously monitor operational processes and overall production environment to ensure compliance with food safety manufacturing standards.
  • Monitor equipment effectiveness through H&S pre‑start paperwork, highlighting trends and issues to ensure asset performance remains consistent and reliable.
  • Promote a good Health, Safety & Environmental culture within the department, including accident investigations, corrective actions and near‑miss reporting.
  • Review operational trends within area to identify and act on sustainable improvement opportunities that increase quality, performance and/or profit.
  • Monitor and review team capability, ensuring staff focus on key objectives and development for maximising potential.
  • Facilitate detailed handovers between shifts to inform of any issues (materials, engineering etc.) and help overnight shifts run efficiently.
  • Receive and check incoming pick tickets.
  • Locate products using technology.
  • Retrieve orders accurately according to quantity.
  • Build pallets with orders and position them to loading docks.
  • Wrap orders before loading on trucks.
  • Ensure products are safely loaded onto lorries so that customer demands are met.

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience working in a similar environment (desirable; full training and support provided).
  • Good communication skills.
  • Management skills.
  • Entry Level 3 English and Maths qualification.
  • Flexible working approach.
  • Computer skills.
  • Good time keeping.
  • Basic food hygiene knowledge.
  • Basic health and safety knowledge.
