A phenomenal opportunity has arisen for a Senior Toolmaker (Injection Moulding) to join a plastic moulding manufacturing organisation. The Senior Mould Toolmaker will be responsible for ensuring that tools, jigs, fixtures and ancillary production equipment are kept in good condition. The Senior Mould Toolmaker is required to work a days based role and responsibilities will include repairing, maintaining and modifying tooling and equipment as required. The Senior Mould Toolmaker will be joining a family orientated company where you will be well looked after for doing a good job and further developed in any areas of weakness.
Key Responsibilities
- To carry out preventative maintenance according to the plan agreed, minimising machine down-time.
- To record all actions taken on the tool history record, modifying the preventative maintenance plan as required and suggesting improvements to avoid recurrence.
- To provide tools to Production in good condition prior to the planned start of production.
- To maintain the tooling stores, working area and office in a tidy, organised and safe way and to clean all tools and equipment used following maintenance work.
- To check all new tools arriving at the company, to ensure that they are ready for production and that no damage/problems are evident.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal tool making apprenticeship and/or a mechanical engineering qualification (City and Guilds, BTEC or ONC/HNC).
