A growing independent plumbing, pipeline and mechanical merchant is looking to recruit a Trade Counter / Warehouse Salesperson to join its Bristol branch. This is a varied, hands‑on role combining trade counter sales, customer service, warehouse operations and branch support within a busy merchant environment. This opportunity would suit candidates from a plumbing merchant, builders merchant, heating merchant, HVAC merchant or trade counter background who enjoy a fast‑paced environment and working closely with trade customers.

The Role

  • Serving trade customers on the counter and over the phone
  • Processing orders, quotations and customer enquiries
  • Picking and packing customer orders accurately
  • Goods inwards, stock handling and putting stock away
  • Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Supporting the warehouse and wider branch team as required
  • Assisting with stock control and maintaining a clean, organised branch
  • Building strong relationships with new and existing customers
  • Supporting deliveries when required

Experience Required

  • Previous experience within a trade counter, warehouse or merchant sales environment
  • Background within plumbing, heating, pipeline, HVAC, builders merchant or industrial supplies preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse and trade counter environment
  • Physically capable of manual handling and lifting duties
  • MHE / forklift experience advantageous but not essential
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
