A growing independent plumbing, pipeline and mechanical merchant is looking to recruit a Trade Counter / Warehouse Salesperson to join its Bristol branch. This is a varied, hands‑on role combining trade counter sales, customer service, warehouse operations and branch support within a busy merchant environment. This opportunity would suit candidates from a plumbing merchant, builders merchant, heating merchant, HVAC merchant or trade counter background who enjoy a fast‑paced environment and working closely with trade customers.
The Role
- Serving trade customers on the counter and over the phone
- Processing orders, quotations and customer enquiries
- Picking and packing customer orders accurately
- Goods inwards, stock handling and putting stock away
- Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently
- Supporting the warehouse and wider branch team as required
- Assisting with stock control and maintaining a clean, organised branch
- Building strong relationships with new and existing customers
- Supporting deliveries when required
Experience Required
- Previous experience within a trade counter, warehouse or merchant sales environment
- Background within plumbing, heating, pipeline, HVAC, builders merchant or industrial supplies preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a warehouse and trade counter environment
- Physically capable of manual handling and lifting duties
- MHE / forklift experience advantageous but not essential
- Full UK driving licence preferred
