We have a focus on the UK market for them and we're actively looking for a Solar PV Technician to join the team. The client delivers varying services, from O&M to full design and system integration. This position is field based and we're looking for a Solar PV Technician with a basic salary of up to 50,000 and you'd also receive a hugely impressive benefits package. Large scale / utility scale solar experience is key in achieving the top end of the salary bracket. Responsibilities and duties of the Solar PV Technician role:
- Reporting to the Regional Team Leader you will:
- Planned and reactive works across a variety of ground mount solar assets
- Testing and inspecting the electrical systems, tracing faults and rectifying where possible
- Liaising with specialist equipment suppliers to troubleshoot issues on site
- Daily reports on the work carried out on site
- Fault finding on both AC and DC systems
- Taking into account all HSE legislation when carrying out any work
- Supervising third party contractors on site if and when required
- Participating in an occasional weekend rota, with additional pay as a result
- Occasional working and staying away
Professional qualifications:
- Utility scale solar experience or commercial/industrial scale
- Level 3 electrical qualifications
- 2391 test and inspection
- HV AP is desirable
- Good working knowledge of key industry instruments and testing equipment
Personal skills:
- Good at fault-finding and has a methodical approach
- Strong understanding of HV and LV power electronics, including transformers and inverters
