Role Overview: QA Test Automation Engineer to join a client in central Bristol (2 days a week in the office). The role involves building and driving automation across web and native mobile applications within a React monorepo, while balancing manual and automated testing.
Responsibilities:
- Own QA strategy end-to-end and drive automation using Playwright, WebDriverIO, Appium, and BrowserStack.
- Collaborate with developers and product teams to introduce structure and process that adds value without unnecessary overhead.
- Maintain and improve existing automation and QA foundations, including unit tests and a bespoke LLM test harness.
- Work across web, Android and iOS platforms, managing differences in behaviour across devices.
- Support manual testing during the first six months with a manual tester and gradually transition to full automation ownership.
- Play a key role in aligning QA practices with medical device regulatory standards as the business evolves.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of QA experience, with strong web automation skills (Playwright preferred).
- Experience with TypeScript, Mocha, Cucumber and Jira.
- Mobile testing experience using Appium or similar is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, take full ownership of QA end-to-end, and thrive in a collaborative environment.
- Curiosity about AI and large language models and a genuine enjoyment of figuring things out.
Benefits:
