SF Partners are exclusively recruiting a Finance Manager for a privately owned business based in Wolverhampton. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a growing organisation in a varied and hands‑on role. The position will suit someone who enjoys taking ownership of finance, improving reporting processes and working closely with senior stakeholders to support commercial decision‑making.
The Role
- Reporting to the Directors, you will be responsible for managing the finance function and ensuring accurate, timely and useful financial information is produced for the business.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and reviewing monthly management information
- Monitoring business performance against budget and reporting on variances
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting
- Managing month‑end and year‑end processes
- Preparing VAT returns
- Improving internal systems, processes and financial controls
- Developing and implementing financial procedures
- Supporting operational projects and process improvement initiatives
- Working closely with senior stakeholders to provide financial insight and challenge
- Supporting improvements to payroll, HR record keeping and wider reporting processes
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be a confident and proactive finance professional with strong management accounting experience and the ability to work closely with senior leadership. You will be comfortable working in a broad role where you can influence processes, challenge costs and provide practical financial insight to support business improvement. The business is open to qualified, part‑qualified or QBE candidates, provided you have the relevant experience and confidence to operate in a hands‑on finance role.
Key Requirements
- Experience in a Finance Manager, Management Accountant or similar role
- Strong management reporting, budgeting and forecasting experience
- Ability to manage month‑end and year‑end processes
- Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Confident communication skills with the ability to work with stakeholders across the business
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience with Sage would be advantageous
